1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, display name, and any optional profile information you provide (bio, avatar, social links). If you select Artist or Beatmaker, we collect your Spotify verification URL. We also collect usage data such as posts, comments, likes, and listening activity to power features like the algorithm and recommendations.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: operate and improve the Platform; display your profile to other users; power the feed algorithm and recommendations; process transactions (music sales, tips); send verification emails during signup; communicate important updates about your account; moderate content and enforce community standards; provide customer support.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Your public profile information (username, display name, avatar, bio, badges) is visible to other users. Your email address is not publicly displayed. We may share information with law enforcement if required by law or to protect the safety of our users, particularly minors.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely through Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption and security practices. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to maintain your login session and save your preferences (such as avatar visibility settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. The Platform does not serve ads.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Supabase (database and authentication), EmailJS (verification emails sent through Gmail), PayPal (payment processing for music sales), and YouTube (embedded video content). Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum information necessary for these services to function.

7. Children's Privacy (KidZone)

We take children's privacy seriously. KidZone accounts are created by verified parents only. Children's data is isolated from the main Platform. Children cannot share personal information publicly, send messages to adults, or participate in financial transactions. We comply with applicable children's privacy regulations including COPPA. Parents can view, modify, or delete their child's data through the Parent Dashboard.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your personal data through your profile and settings; update or correct your information at any time; delete your account (which removes your profile and associated data); request a copy of your data by contacting us; opt out of non-essential communications.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, posts, and associated data will be removed. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period. Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics purposes.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
